A cardigan is judged at the placket. Ours are knitted, linked and pressed as a single operation so the front edges hang level after wash rather than after steam only. Button spacing is set from the graded block, not from the sample, which keeps the ladder straight across a size run.
Buttonholes and button stitching run on dedicated Brother heads; snaps are attached on a Ngai Shing press. Where a programme calls for horn, corozo or metal trims we will run a pull-test on the received lot before it goes near a bulk garment.
Shawl collars, storm plackets and knitted belts all come off the same flat beds as the body, so the rib and the collar share a dye lot and a shrinkage figure.
