Intarsia & Jacquard

Intarsia is the reason a hand-driven floor is worth keeping. A motif with eight colours and no float on the reverse cannot be automated cheaply at this volume — it is knitted by an operator working a chart, one course at a time. Four hundred and twenty hand beds is what makes that commercially sane.

All-over jacquard runs on the fifty 12GG Hong Qi Ma auto machines. Two, three and four-colour repeats, birdseye and ladderback backing, with float length controlled at chart stage so the reverse does not snag on a hand.

Every colourway is signed off in the colour assessment cabinet against a Pantone reference before knitting starts. Where a buyer supplies a lab dip standard we match to the standard, not to the book.
