Children's knitwear is a compliance product first. Every trim on a kids' garment is pull-tested against the buyer's protocol, cords and drawstrings are specified out of the block at design stage, and the metal detector pass is mandatory rather than sampled.
The size run is the hard part commercially: newborn through 14 years can be twelve or more sizes across one style. Charts and blocks are graded per size — on an intarsia motif that means re-charting, not scaling, so the motif stays in proportion on a 2-year body and a 12-year body.
We run boys' and girls' programmes on the same floor as adult volume, which keeps the minimum per colour realistic for a kids' drop.
